Questions about your rental? Need to make a change? Contact us!

What if I have my own boots?

If you have your own boots, no problem! While our online packages automatically include boots, we’re happy to offer a discount in-store if you bring your own. Just let us know when you arrive, and we’ll adjust your rental package accordingly.

What is your rental policy?

Our rental policy can be viewed by clicking here.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that sometimes plans change unexpectedly, and you no longer need a reservation for winter sports equipment. We require a deposit on the day you reserve the gear, but we are happy to cancel your reservation and refund the deposit if we are notified in advance. Call us at least 48 hours prior to your reservation to have your deposit refunded. We can still cancel the reservation within 48 hours of pickup, but we will not be able to refund your deposit without advance notice.

Are reservations required for rentals?

We don’t require reservations, but we do recommend them. Making a reservation guarantees you will have the equipment you want for your trip. If you rent without making a reservation, we can’t guarantee that you will get your first choice of equipment. Reserving equipment as a new customer allows us to use your skill level and boot size to pull the best gear that fits your experience and style. To make the rental process flow smoothly, we keep records of past rentals to make sure our returning customers get the same gear every time they make a reservation. However, you are welcome to browse our available rental equipment if you choose to visit without making a reservation.

How do I pick which package is right for me?

We offer various packages to cater to winter sports enthusiasts of different skill levels. Our junior package is geared towards young skiers and snowboarders who are just learning how to hit the slopes. The Bronze package is designed for beginners who aren’t yet comfortable on the slopes, while the Silver package is for people who are moderately experienced traversing the slopes on skis and snowboards. The Gold package is for high-performance athletes and experienced winter sports enthusiasts interested in speed and have no trouble with the terrain.

Are helmets included in my rental package?

Helmets are not included in the package, because many people now travel with their own helmet. We do have helmet rentals and strongly suggest everyone renting skis or boards use a helmet. We also have helmets for purchase in all of our shops.

What is the best time to pick up equipment?

If you are taking a ski lesson that starts in the morning or want to be on the lifts when they start turning, we recommend you come and pick up your equipment at least the night before. Mornings are our biggest rush with everyone trying to pick up their equipment right before the lifts start turning. If you have more time in the morning, come in at 10 AM or after and the morning rush should be over.

Can I pick up my equipment the day before I plan to use it?

Yes, you can pick up your equipment anytime after 3 PM and not be charged for the day, although we recommend if you can, wait until after 5 PM when the rush of returns is over.

What does the equipment coverage plan cover?

Any damage that occurs to the equipment will be covered. Loss or theft is not covered.

How do I return rental equipment?

When your reservation has ended, simply stop by any Base Mountain Sports store to return your rental equipment. You do not have to return the gear to the same location you picked it up from, so feel free to travel among Beaver Creek, Avon, Breckenridge, or Vail with the equipment you rent and just return it to the nearest location when your trip is over. We will examine the rental equipment to ensure it is still in good condition and sanitize it before renting it out to someone else.

Can I pick up my equipment at one location and drop it off at another location?

Absolutely! If you plan on skiing in Breckenridge, Beaver Creek or Vail, drop your ski or snowboard off at the most convenient location.
